We would like to thank all of you praying for my 10-day ministry in Congo. The Lord blessed in remarkable ways, more than we expected. Our efforts were not without resistance but through your prayers, we prevailed and the Lord’s name was glorified.
The first obstacle was my visa. A man had been paid to do the paper work so that the visa would be ready for me on my arrival, March 6th. Well, the man had taken the money but not done the work. After many SOS messages calling for prayer, and many trips to the immigration office, my visa paper suddenly appeared, duly stamped and signed, getting me to the Radio Station SANGU ya MBOTE in Pointe Noire for the seminar on Spiritual Warfare one day late.

The first night, since I didn’t appear, they had an evening of Praise and Intercession, something the Congolese Christians do very well. Every night saw approximately 350 people with about 400 the last night of the seminar. These estimates were based on the number of chairs they had set up and then estimating the overflow that exceeded the number of chairs. It is impossible to tell how many heard the Word, as some portions of the seminar were broadcast over the radio.
On Saturday night, a meeting hall was rented that seated approximately 600 people. Many more people stood around outside the building. This was to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Radio Station and I was asked to give an inspirational message that was also evangelistic. Even thought the audience was predominantly Christian, many standing outside prayed to receive Christ when the invitation was given.
Many people sought appointments for prayer during the week. We formed a team of two missionaries (Wyman and Carma Nelson) and the Radio Director and his wife (Nicaise and Fabienne) to receive the people and assist me in praying for them. Nicaise and his wife were invaluable in helping us understand some of the cultural aspects of what people were saying during the sessions. We prayed for 40 people in Pointe Noire and saw some dramatic change in people’s lives. We try to avoid demonic manifestations but sometimes, in the course of praying with people, it happens and when it did, we cast them out.

One woman rejoiced as her 7 or 8 year old daughter was delivered. She said “I can’t believe it, my daughter is delivered! We tried many times and no one could do it. All this man did was pray in the name of Jesus!
This theme was repeated in Brazzaville when I gave the same seminar there on Monday and Tuesday. 40 people showed up: Pastors, Bible school students and lay people. We prayed for about 10 people there. Again, on the second night, some of the people we had prayed for testified that they were amazed that there was no shouting and carrying–on and yet in the name of Jesus, they were set free. Isn’t it wonderful that what the people saw in those ten days, was a demonstration of the authority and power of the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!

Thank you for praying. This is the fruit of your prayers: not only were people saved and delivered from demonic oppression, the name of Jesus was glorified in the Republic of Congo.
